July 14, Colombo: Sri Lanka Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said yesterday that an alliance has been already formed to topple the rule of the United People's Freedom Alliance in the Eastern Provincial Council.
Addressing the 10th annual congress of the Buddhist monk led Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) the layman leader of the party Patali Champika Ranawaka said that Tamil and Muslim parties have allied to grab power in the Eastern Provincial Council.
He further stated that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and other pro-Eelam politicians like Karunanidhi, Ramdass and Vaiko will begin campaigning against Sinhala people of Sri Lanka when India's general election campaigns begin around May next year.
He added that a Tamil National Alliance led Northern Provincial Council government might take advantage of it and then only everybody would understand the situation.
