May 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka's diversified conglomerate, Hemas Group has acquired a controlling stake of importer of pharmaceuticals J. L. Morison Son & Jones (Ceylon) PLC.
According to disclosure at the Colombo Stock Exchange, Hemas Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Hemas Holdings has acquired over 4.15 million Ordinary Voting Shares of J. L. Morison Son & Jones today.
Further the company purchased 648,580 Ordinary Non-Voting Shares at 219.70 rupees per share and 223,783 shares at 213.66 per non-voting share.
Following the acquisition Hemas Manufacturing holds 71.51% and 50.06% in Ordinary Voting and Non-Voting share capital, respectively, of the J. L. Morison Son & Jones.
J. L. Morison Son & Jones (Ceylon) PLC is engaged in importing and distributing finished pharmaceuticals, toiletries, agro chemicals, medical aid, and other consumer products.
