When the country faced a power crisis the government was encouraging the private sector to set up power generation plants to supply power to the CEB.
Now the government is saying they do not require any power from the private sector, after having spent a huge amount of capital to set up these plants. They took loans from the banks and small time shareholders and contracts with them are not being renewed .This will also affect small- time share holders who have invested in these companies.
Due to this the private sector will not have confidence to start any new projects similar to these if this was the attitude of the government.
Unfortunately, the present companies who have set up these plants are unable to voice their protest for reasons best known to them.
