Mar 25, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says the government needs to identify the cold war that is building against the country and address the issue with appropriate policy. JVP politburo member K.D. Lalkantha said the government has so far failed to identify the hidden agendas of the imperialists and address it with an appropriate mechanism.
He observed that there is a massive movement in place to create a separate state without using any weapons.
"It is South India that has taken a lead in this movement," Lalkantha said.
He explained that the attempt is to create an Eelam through the UN organization and the plan is now being implemented.
"This plan cannot be defeated by muscle power," Lalkantha noted, adding that the government needs to be ready with a strategic mechanism to address the matter.
