The police yesterday said that twelve Special Task Force (STF) personnel had been remanded, by the Trincomalee Chief Magistrate U. L. M. Azhar, till July 18 in connection with the 2006 massacre of five Tamil students in Trincomalee.


The victims were awaiting university entrance.


Among the suspects was an Assistant Superintendent of Police. They will be held in the Anuradhapura Prison.


Parents of the victims have sought the intervention of the UNHRC to bring the killers to justice.
