People would have now lost count of the number of crimes of various descriptions committed by mad dogs in the garb of PC and PS members who think that they are above the law for all practical purposes. But a few incidents like the killing of a foreigner at Tangalla, killing several women at Kahawatta, gang raping of a girl by 22 men, including UPFA politicos and thugs and raping of a girl by the chairman of Akurassa PS, stand out.

The latest act of thuggery committed by a UPFA PC member is to make a female teacher of the councillor’s daughter‘s school kneel down for the "offence" of making her fall in line with the school’s standards of discipline. This PC member should be charged for obstructing the legitimate duties of both the principal and the teacher. Teachers in a few schools have registered their protest against the shameless high handed act of the politico but the unions have not taken enough collective action to make a loud and clear impression in the minds of the populace. This shows that teacher unions are prepared to take lying down any insults by anybody, particularly third rate politicos.

Everyone is aware that you are all powerful within the party and that you have a strong hold of the party members but you have not done enough to tame these mad dogs who run amok growling and snarling at innocent people. Worse still is that most people believe that you give them protection.

Ordering the PC member to resign is not enough. You have to take stern action against all UPFA politicians who have committed crimes and see that legal action is taken against them. That is the only way of proving that you are really honest about what you say.

Please put these mad dogs on a tight leash –and fast.
