Second batch of Microsoft Accelerator start-ups graduate - Goutam Das BT

The Microsoft Accelerator programme in Bangalore announced the graduation of its second batch of technology start-ups on Friday. The four-month programme mentors start-ups in areas such as product development, engagement with early adopters and marketing. In all, nine start-ups were mentored by various experts including angel investors. 

Mukund Mohan, CEO-in-residence of the accelerator, was upbeat about the progress of the start-ups.



The start-ups mentored in this batch work in different areas, from education to ticketing. One of them is idos. Founded by C Srikanth and Alexander Reife, it is a software application that enables global businesses to process financial transactions accurately and ensure they are regulation-compliant. It is a kind of a pre-accounting software.  


Other companies which graduated were Deck, Explara, Harness, SupportBee, Tuebora, Visarity, TableGrabber and i7 Networks. Visarity is a mobile advertising company that promises to make mobile advertisements richer in content and in 3D, while TableGrabber is a real-time online restaurant reservation system that helps consumers search and book tables at restaurants online with ease.





i7 Networks plays in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) segment, currently very much in vogue, providing enterprises a way to secure and detect all devices in their network.



Founders of all the start-ups demonstrated their technologies and solutions to a gathering of investors, entrepreneurs and the media on Friday. Serial entrepreneur and Managing Director of Quatrro Raman Roy gave the start-up founders a motivational talk.


"There is so much energy! Entrepreneurship is the preferred avenue for smart people who dare to take risks and realise their dreams and in doing so, provide employment to others," he said.

For the most part, the demo sessions were fun and were well presented. Whistle-blowing cheerleaders made sure there wasn't a dull moment.
