June 20, Colombo: A minister in the Sri Lankan government says that the main opposition United National Party (UNP) and the major Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have requested more time to decide on the proposed parliamentary select committee (PSC) to decide on constitutional amendments.
Leader of the House, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told the media that the two parties have sought more time to decide whether or not to participate in the PSC.
The government last week proposed the setting up of a PSC to discuss amending the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.
