* President Mahinda Rajapaksa being received by SLAF Commander, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrema on arrival aboard a MA60 SLAF aircraft at the newly constructed Iranamadu Domestic Airport yesterday. The President later unveiled the plaque to mark the commissioning of this airport. This airstrip, built by the LTTE, was completely destroyed during the war and was restored by the Air Force using its own engineering expertise. The air strip, 1,500 m long and 25 m wide, is now equipped to accommodate C130 SLAF aircraft.
