Colombo City Coroner Edward Ahangama yesterday (26) ordered Kandy Police to take legal action against those who had aided and abetted Ven. Bowatte Indarathana Thera to self immolate opposite the Dalada Maligawa on Friday.

The City Coroner gave the order during yesterday’s inquest into the death of Indarathana Thera. He said action should be taken against the persons who had handed a can of petrol to the bhikkhu and an inquiry conducted to find from where the petrol had been obtained.

Following the inquest, the remains of the bhikkhu had been handed over by the coroner’s court to Rathmalawinne Dhammarathana thera of Sri Sugahtha Vihara in Southern Panawenna, Kahawatte.
