Air Arabia cancels services to Sri Lanka's new airport

Wed, May 8, 2013, 10:27 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. May 08, Colombo: Air Arabia, the Sharjah-based United Arab Emirates' national budget airlines has cancelled its services to Sri Lanka's newly opened second international airport at Mattala in Hambantota.
The airline has cancelled its Sharjah - Mattala/Hambantota route, just 6 weeks after it became the first foreign carrier to service the newest international airport in Sri Lanka.
Reservations on the airline's website is no longer available, the Routes Online reported.
Air Arabia operated twice weekly non-stop services between Sharjah and Mattala beginning with the inaugural flight on March 18.
The airline, from May 19, has planned to increase services to Mattala four times a week to accommodate summer travel.
